This website is a supplement to Handbook to God’s Promises: The Promises of God in Scripture (Kenneth Boa and William Kruidenier, Trinity House Publishers, 2020). As in the handbook, this guide adapts content originally written for the Life Promises Bible (Zondervan, 2001), also by Kenneth Boa and William Kruidenier.
This guide offers brief biblical insights into how God’s promises relate to everyday challenges and opportunities. It is organized into six categories, or themes, each containing seven to nine subthemes. We encourage you to use these short commentaries to spur deeper meditation and study, either alone or in groups.
The New American Standard Bible (NASB) 2020 translation is used in Scripture quotations unless otherwise indicated.

The passages and meditations in this section will help you grow in confidence about God’s faithfulness and reliability. You will encounter promises about the existence of God; the integrity, eternality, and purpose of His words; the reliability of the Bible; and Jesus’ identity as the Living Word.
These promises focus on how the presence of God is the key to every blessing and benefit of the spiritual life. His presence fills every human need, ending in eternal intimacy with Him. As you journey through these Scripture passages and meditations, fill your mind with the promises of Immanuel, “God with us.”
God delights in providing for you abundantly. He knows you intimately, so He knows your every physical, spiritual, and emotional need. The promises in this section will help you discover the many ways in which God meets your deepest needs—perhaps needs you never knew you had.
God is more than able to protect every aspect of your life. He not only protects you physically, but He also will guard you against whatever tries to steal your faith, joy, and peace. The Scripture passages and accompanying meditations in this section will help you rest assured in God’s sovereignty and protection.
There is a crucial difference between our plans and God’s: His plans never fail. The promises in this section show that God’s plans encompass even the seemingly accidental details of our lives, including the painful ones. Because God’s plans are good, you can have peace about the past, security about the present, and confidence about the future.
These Scripture passages and meditations focus on how to cultivate an eternal perspective in this temporal arena. The things of this world cannot ultimately satisfy, but the promises in this section assure you that your deepest longings will be fulfilled when God brings you to your eternal home.
